I didn’t set out to become a Visibility Strategist
Hi there, I’m Gillian Maxlow – a former sailor turned AI-Powered Visibility Strategist, helping women 50+ stop being the internet’s best-kept secret.
If you’d met me years ago, you’d have found me in very different places: training office staff on Microsoft software, managing multimedia eLearning primary school curriculum projects, or even steering a yacht through Southeast Asia.
Yes, I really did live aboard a yacht – sailing up and down Australia’s east coast for a number of years and then heading off to SE Asia 5 sailing adventure – which have really shaped the way I see life and business: flexible, resourceful, and always scanning the horizon for what’s coming next.
When I came back onshore, I lent back into my IT skillsets, shifting into virtual support and digital management. I saw first-hand how overwhelming the growing jungle of online tools was becoming for business owners. That’s where my knack for simplifying tech and connecting the dots really clicked into place.

The Pivot to AI-Powered Visibility
For years, I focused on Google’s free organic marketing tools – helping women show up where clients are already searching. BUT the landscape has shifted. Search isn’t just about websites anymore – AI models like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity are now recommending businesses directly in their results.
That’s why I now blend AI strategy, Google visibility, and smart WordPress plugins to help women create ecosystems that prove their expertise and get them found online, without burning out on social media or chasing shiny objects.
